Every year, senior care facilities and other agencies throughout Colchester county identify seniors who are isolated at the holidays. Gift tags are put on trees throughout the community for the public to choose from.

Why support ‘Elves for Elders?’
Jennifer: “Both my husband and my mother work in nursing homes and I had heard of clients who wouldn’t have anything to open on Christmas morning. These are people living on modest pensions, who may not have the means to purchase a new pair of slippers or pajamas. I am incredibly grateful that the United Way agreed to take over the program when I returned to work in 2016 and have grown it to help so many people over the last 7 years!”
Nancy: “It was a very easy decision to get on board with Elves for Elders four years ago, since it is such a wonderful program to show seniors in our community that we care and that they are important to us. We help out each year to put a smile on someone’s face during the holidays and to possibly help them not feel alone.“
